Selection Guide

Friction Ratio by Process

The right ratio improves mixing quality and prevents scorching.

🧬 Mastication
1:1.25 – 1.35
High shear for breaking down natural rubber chains. Our lab models ship with this range.
🧪 Mixing / Compounding
1:1.15 – 1.25
Best balance of mixing quality and temperature control. The most common range for production.
📄 Sheeting / Warming
1:1.05 – 1.10
Low shear prevents scorch. Ideal after internal mixer — prepare compound for calender or press.
🔬 Silicone / TPE / TPU
1:1.10 – 1.20
Moderate ratio. Gentle on heat-sensitive materials while ensuring good dispersion.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between hollow rolls and drilled rolls?
Hollow rolls (standard) have a simple internal cavity — they're more economical and suitable for most rubber processing. Drilled rolls (upgrade) have channels drilled close to the roll surface, providing faster thermal response and more uniform roll face temperature (within 2°C vs 7-8°C). We recommend drilled rolls for precision sheeting, heat-sensitive compounds, or high-output production lines.
Can I change the friction ratio after purchase?
Yes. All Sanxing mills use ZSY hardened gear reducers with external ratio gears. If you need to switch from mixing to sheeting, simply replace the external gear pair — it takes less than an hour. Custom ratio gears are available for special requirements.
What safety certifications do you support?
Our machines are designed with CE and UL requirements in mind. We can supply units with CE-certified safety packages including emergency stop cables, knee-operated reverse stop, dual emergency stop buttons, safety fuse discs, and proper electrical enclosures.
What materials can your mills process?
Natural rubber (NR), SBR, NBR, CR, EPDM, silicone, fluoroelastomers, reclaim rubber, and TPE/TPR/TPU. Temperature control options (water cooling, steam heating, electric heating) ensure proper processing across all material types.
Do you provide installation and technical support?
Yes. Every machine comes with installation guidance and technical support. We can also arrange on-site commissioning assistance for larger orders. Spare parts are shipped globally.
